Linux Tip: Recursively copy a directory except certain files/folders

The following command (rsync) will copy the folder source_dir to destination_dir recursively and it will exclude all subfolders called ignore_dir.

# rsync -av --exclude='ignore_dir' /usr/local/source_dir /usr/local/destination_dir
